WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE STRATEGIC AND TECHNICAL CONFERENCE?

The Strategic and Technical Conferences are two separate conferences that take place at the same venue during the Global Energy Show Canada. The Strategic Conference examines the most pertinent commercial challenges, project funding & development, trading, pricing, geopolitical issues, market outlook, and analysis. The Technical Conference will offer attendees the best business critical content spanning the entire value chain with a mix of individual technical presentations and panel sessions.

WHAT HAPPENS WITH UNSUCCESSFUL APPLICATIONS?

All abstract submitters will be notified by January 31, 2025 on whether the abstract was successful in making it into the final program. If the abstract was not initially accepted into the final program, below are some available options.

Accept to be an Alternate Speaker – If your abstract scored well but didn’t make the final program you can choose to be an alternate speaker. As an alternate speaker you would be placed on a speaker list in case one of the accepted speakers is unable to present for whatever reason. Alternate speakers can register for the Global Energy Show Technical Conference at the discounted speaker rate. Please note that being on the alternate list does not guarantee a speaking spot.

Participate in the Poster Session – If you would still like to present your research or technology to conference delegates and exhibition visitors you can choose to participate in the poster session which is part of the conference. Posters will be displayed on the exhibition floor all three days, providing you exposure to over 50,000 exhibition visitors. Along with the discounted speaker rate an additional fee will be required to be paid to take part in the poster session. You can choose to also be placed on the alternate speaker list at the same time as participating in the poster session.

IS THERE ANY COST INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS TO BECOME A SPEAKER?

There are no costs incurred for submitting and applying for the technical conference.

Successful speakers who are accepted into the final technical program will be required to pay the required discounted speaker rate of $595 CAD. The discounted speaker rate includes a full three-day technical conference pass which includes access to all technical presentations, panel sessions, first day morning plenary session, networking event and covers all refreshment breaks and lunch as well as access to the exhibition.

Global Energy Show Canada does not cover travel, accommodation or any other additional costs for participating presenters.

IS THERE A WORD LIMIT FOR ABSTRACTS?

Technical Committee members may also choose to move abstracts to categories which are more relevant if necessary. The scoring process takes place from December 7, 2024 - January 15, 2025 with all applicants being informed of the status of their submission via email by January 31, 2025 with further instruction on the next steps provided at that time.
