Bill Malus has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the hydropower industry. Before joining Natel Energy as CEO, Bill was Senior Vice President & Chief Sales Officer for Voith Hydro North America, where he also served on the Board of Management. Previously, Bill worked as President & CEO of Voith Hydro Canada, leading significant advancements in hydropower technology and driving commercial growth across North America.

Bill holds a degree in Chemical Engineering & Management Science from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, and developed a broad range of expertise in the energy sector before discovering his love for hydropower. As part of the initial wave of Master Black Belts, Bill led the launch of GE's Six Sigma Corporate initiative and served as General Manager for GE Energy Services (North America). More recently, Bill served as Business Development Executive for Utilities & Energy at Capgemini.

Bill’s commitment to advancing hydropower’s role in the energy transition is evidenced by his active participation in industry associations. He has served as Treasurer & Executive Board Member for Waterpower Canada and was an Executive Member of Canada’s National Electricity Roundtable.

As Natel CEO, Bill focuses on advancing the commercial growth of Natel's FishSafe™ turbine technology. Bill lives in Ontario with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid audiophile, plays guitar and enjoys family time at the cottage on Lake Simcoe, Ontario, Canada.
