Emily Becker holds a BASc degree in environmental science from the University of Saskatchewan, where she focused on geomatics, sustainability, and environmental management. She combines her passion for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and engagement methods to enhance communication and decision-making in the nuclear industry. Emily is currently an Environmental Professional-in-training with EcoCanada.
Emily joined the environment division at Calian Nuclear as an analyst in April 2023, where she has been actively involved in SaskPower’s SMR development through management systems and impact assessment efforts. Additionally, Emily aids in emergency management simulations and seeks to advance new nuclear initiatives in the Prairies. As part of this work, she collaborates with post-secondary education institutes and regional engineering consulting companies to support the sectors growth. Emily fosters awareness and interest in the evolving nuclear industry through university career fairs and industry conferences.
Originally from Saskatoon, SK, Emily now resides in Calgary, AB, where she continues to support sustainable energy development while advocating for new nuclear across Canada.
