Florian Isufaj, PhD, is a technology development scientist specializing in sustainable energy solutions and advanced chemical processes. With a strong background in industrial chemistry and chemical engineering, he focuses on creating innovative approaches for heavy oil upgrading, low-carbon fuel production, and hydrogen generation. Florian’s expertise encompasses process design and optimization, conducting economic feasibility studies, and scaling up emerging technologies from the laboratory to commercial readiness. During his doctoral studies at the University of Calgary, Florian developed industry-driven research on a novel oxidative desulfurization process for bunker fuels, successfully advancing it to a higher technology readiness level and supporting a patent application. At NanosTech, Florian serves a Technology Lead, continuing to bridge the gap between applied research and industry, acting as a liaison among multidisciplinary teams—catalyst developers, process engineers, and business strategists—to create more efficient and sustainable pathways for producing low-carbon fuels.
