As the Vice President of Policy and Government Relations for Pathways Alliance, Amberly leads the Policy and Government Relations teams, which advance advocacy on behalf of Alberta’s oil sands sector including both in situ and mining operations. Collaborating with Pathways member companies, stakeholders and government, Amberly leads the development of regulatory and policy positions and works to find solutions to issues facing the oil sands industry from land use planning and greenhouse gas emissions management to regulatory application requirements and fiscal frameworks.

Amberly has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. She has extensive experience in managing the policy, regulatory and environmental considerations associated with energy development, having previously worked at the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP). She’s also worked at some of the major upstream oil and gas companies in Canada, gaining experience in regulatory and environmental management for mining, oil sands and conventional oil and gas projects and operations.

With a passion for inspiring future generations to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), Amberly serves on the Board of Directors for the Calgary Youth Science Fair in her spare time. The organization, which is run entirely by volunteers, encourages youth to explore technology, engineering and math through their annual science fair.
