bio

Megan Leung (she/her) is a climate artist and scientist with a background in environmental and water science. She combines her love of art and science to address the complex environmental and ecological issues caused by the climate crisis. Research and recreational activities have brought her to beautiful, remote places where water, ice, permafrost, and snow dance through the landscape; from the Canadian Rockies all the way to the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. She illustrates their beauty with bold compositions and vibrant brushstrokes. Megan further illuminates these issues by educating youth and adults through various programming, workshops, and outreach. Megan's work has been featured by local, national, and international organizations such as Parks Canada, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Climate Centre, the Arctic Institute of North America, Global Water Futures, artsPlace, Cirque Ãloize, the Canadian Water Resources Association, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), the University of Calgary, and the Beltline Urban Mural Festival.
