An innovative petroleum and reservoir engineering professional with more than 25 years of experience with major oil & gas companies in fast paced technologically sophisticated environments within the Canadian and International E&P upstream; petroleum exploration, exploitation, reserves evaluation, reservoir engineering, field development & production engineering sectors.   Dr Elden Jaafar is a highly experienced leader in the international oil and gas projects in Canada, North America, the Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, Malaysia, Sarawak and the North Sea UK in multidisciplinary, onshore and offshore environments.   He has experience in a wide range of reservoir types; complexity and depletion mechanisms; conventional and unconventional reservoirs development, field development optimization; strategic business planning and growth, maximizing recovery and reducing cost, EOR and horizontal well technology.   Dr Elden has extensive experience with Shell Canada in Western Canada, East Coast, Northwest Territories, Mackenzie Delta, Arctic & Beaufort Sea in various technical and project management positions. He acquired vast experience in LNG projects and marketing.   Dr Elden serves as SPE Director, SPE Global Membership Committee, Shell ISC Conference - Development & Planning Committee, and currently on APEGA Calgary Executive Committee, SPE Canadian Regional Awards Committee and SPE Editorial Review and Technical Editor. Currently a Technical Editor in 4 SPE Journals: SPE Journal , SPE Economics & Management, SPE Reservoir Evaluation & Engineering, Oil and Gas Facilities.  Dr. Jaafar hold a Doctorate degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Heriot-Watt, UK , a registered Professional Engineer, P.Eng. of APEGA and active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers - SPE
