Keith Knudsen

Keith Knudsen is a Professional Engineer and Principal at Brightspot Climate Inc. Keith joined the team in 2021 and brings with him expertise in project planning, sustainability, climate change advisory and GHG quantification. Keith is familiar with offset reporting for various technologies including carbon capture and storage, renewable electricity,  biogas, biofuels and nature-based solutions. Keith has supported organizations in emission quantification, serializing of carbon credits and providing market assessments for environmental attributes both in the compliance and the voluntary space. 

Keith has been in the energy space since 2007 and has experience in project planning including research, feasibility assessment, financial modeling, technology evaluation, project siting, public consultation and navigating provincial and federal regulatory processes. He has in-depth knowledge of the Alberta emission offset market, low carbon fuel markets, electricity systems, biofuels, and relevant revenue and tariff structures. 

At Brightspot, Keith has been heavily involved in life cycle assessments, conducting carbon footprint analysis of products and processes, and carbon intensity calculations for alternative fuels. These alternative fuels include renewable natural gas, ethanol and hydrogen, and modelling of carbon sequestration to enhance overall life cycle carbon intensity.
