Stephen Rennick
Steve Rennick brings a wealth of experience in the political, advocacy, and strategy spaces to Sustainable Emissions Secretariat. His leadership, strategic advice and insight have led to successful outcomes for companies, institutions and organizations facing complex communications, political and policy challenges.
For the first 14 years of his career, Steve worked as a journalist and broadcaster across western Canada, where he developed an in-depth understanding, deep appreciation and love for the Canadian Prairies. This eventually led to an opportunity to ‘give back’ following the Saskatchewan Party’s historic 2007 election win. Between 2008 and 2013, Steve served in the government of Premier Brad Wall.
Following that, he made a brief return to politics serving as Chief of Staff to the leader of the opposition and a government minister. Steve was then offered and accepted the challenge of building a non-partisan advocacy program for the oil and gas industry. This led to an opportunity to do similar work for the Government of Alberta during the most challenging public health crisis of our generation.
